One of my new clients created a website using www.vistaprint.com and their website template. Now, I’m generally a fan of VistaPrint for their business cards and other items. However, like most of the cookie-cutter website building services out there, you are only allowed a marginal amount of control.
VistaPrint charges an additional fee to transfer your domain name!
Even though my client has been paying $29.97/month AND paid for the VistaPrint SEO, which doesn’t help in the least, AND something VistaPrint calls “local search” – they still force you to pay $19.99 to transfer your domain! This might not exactly be a scam – but it’s darn close.
