Well it’s official – eBay has sold Skype in a deal worth a couple of billion dollars. It also appears the Skype may be getting ready for an IPO and going public.

Why is this interesting? Many of you have asked me how the current lawsuit will affect Skype usage in the future. Many of you have loved ones overseas and depend on Skype for communication. Also, I’m a big fan of Skype and use it fairly often.
My opinion is that the founders of Skype will work out a licensing deal with the current owners and everyone will be happy.
