Pickup or DropOff Computer or Device - Repair
Your computer or device has a malfunction that may be software or hardware related.
Client agrees to allow SmarterGeek to take the device to our repair shop. You also agree to allow certain hardware and/or software tests to be performed.
Client agrees that some computer / device models require the disassembly of components for repair. Occasionally parts can be damaged during disassembly or re-assembly (ex: plastic snap tabs on laptops, LCD screens, etc). You agree to be responsible for replacement parts costs, if necessary, and that SmarterGeek is not responsible for damages occurring that are beyond repair.
This may also include a complete reinstall of the operating system and software. If necessary, you agree to be able to provide any additional software installers necessary and the appropriate licenses (ex: Microsoft Office, Adobe Photoshop, etc).
SmarterGeek agrees to communicate the progress of troubleshooting and repairs and to inform Client of any additional charges beyond those discussed.
While SmarterGeek attempts to backup and transfer your important data, and we try to avoid situations where your data or software is lost, such occurrences of data loss happen and are common, for a variety of reasons. We will make every best faith effort to retrieve, backup, and restore your data.
However, ultimately it is your responsibility to insure that you have complete and restorable backups of your important data files.
You agree and allow SmarterGeek to make a temporary copy of any recoverable data while in the process of repairs. This data will be kept only for the time necessary to complete the services or repairs. SmarterGeek is NOT responsible for maintaining archives of your data.
